The Elite Challenge – Help beat cancer on our doorstep - UK – Friday 11th July to Sunday 13th July

The Elite Challenge will take place on the 11th July 2008 when David 'Mac' McKinnon will climb the Three Peaks... with a difference! Instead of driving between the peaks, Mac will cycle. He aims to cover 500 miles in just 60 hours
all under his  own steam. His aim is to raise £100,000 for a mobile
chemotherapy unit.

Location: Snowdon - Wales, Scafell Pike - Lake District and Ben Nevis - Scotland
Climate: Cold, wet and windy!
Time Target: under 60 hours
START Peak 1: Climb Mount Snowdon; Cycle 1: 200  mile cycle to Scafell Pike (approx); Peak 2: Climb Scafell Pike; Cycle 2: 250 mile cycle to Ben Nevis (approx)
FINISH Peak 3: Climb Ben Nevis

The Cycle Stage (29th May to 1st June) started from Chamonix on May 29th and crosses the Alps. The planned route covered over 150km a day, climbing up to 2,500m a day for the first three days and then a shorter fourth day which makes a tour of the incredible Gorges de Verdon before snaking down through charming Provencal villages to reach the sandy shores of the Mediterranean Sea at Hyeres (South of France) on the 1st June. Then across the sea to Corsica and up Mont Cinto.

    Successful launch of SportsTrack at Etape Caledonia

SporTrack Followed Mark Beaumont – the fastest man cycled around the world - in real time as he participates at this year’s recent Etape Caledonia cycle event.

SportsTrack UK launched at the recent Etape Caledonia cycling event in Highland Perthshire on the 18th May 2008. Etape Caledonia is Britain’s only closed road cycling event with nearly 2000 participants.
